Avocado, also known as avocado, has recently gained attention on Instagram as a popular fruit among the public. However, it is not the fruit itself, but its leaves that have attracted many consumers to explore.
This avocado leaf tea is a new core product launched by Avocado Leaf Tea and is announced to be soon available to tea enthusiasts worldwide. It is reported that avocado leaves contain high concentrations of polyphenols and flavonoids, which can provide drinks rich in antioxidants. At present, the company is applying for patent certification for its innovative products.
The leaves of avocado trees have been in use for centuries and can be traced back to the medicinal properties of the Aztecs and Mayans. Avocado Leaf Tea co founder Sharon Colona stated that in the past few years, researchers have begun studying the benefits of leaves and achieved impressive results: avocado leaves contain high concentrations of polyphenols and flavonoids, both of which are super antioxidants.
She also stated that all the benefits of drinking super antioxidant beverages are related to tea, including helping to protect the body from free radicals and helping to reduce hypertension.
Two recent studies have found that avocado seed oil and avocado leaves have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, respectively, which can prevent various diseases such as hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD). A study by the University of Nuevo Leon in Mexico found that this leaf is rich in plant compounds and has significant antioxidant activity, which can treat certain diseases. Researchers have discovered 41 compounds, mainly phenolic acids and flavonoids, of which 18 are the first to be found in this plant material.
Traditionally, avocado leaves were used as medicine in Latin America to treat coughs, bruises, wound healing, and hypertension. This study indicates that avocado leaves are an important source for recycling compounds with high antioxidant activity and high added value. These compounds can serve as bioactive antioxidants and have potential application value in treating various diseases and developing new foods.
The study published in the journal Molecular coincides with the popularity of avocados among consumers. Researchers point out that the consumption of avocados causes a significant waste of crop by-products, including seeds, peels, and leaves. However, these by-products are rich sources of bioactive compounds and contain functional nutrients such as minerals, vitamins, fatty acids, proteins, fibers, and polyphenols (such as phenolic acids), which have not been further utilized.
According to reports, these polyphenolic compounds are associated with the fight against degenerative diseases and have anti-inflammatory, cholesterol lowering, and anticancer properties.
Researchers evaluated the ability of avocado leaves to scavenge free radicals and their inhibitory effect on lipid oxidation. The results showed that its antioxidant activity was statistically significant. Previous studies have shown that the anti lipid oxidation effect of avocado extract is related to the phenolic content in the peel, seeds, and leaves. For example, extracts can prevent lipid oxidation in frozen pork, and studies have confirmed that they are antibacterial drugs.
Avocado Leaf Tea is pre launching five different flavors of avocado leaf tea, including chamomile, lemon, peach, and premium flavors, each mixed with natural avocado leaves.  The last type is pure natural avocado leaf tea, which also meets organic standards in taste.
It is understood that this new tea will make its debut at the World Tea Expo held in Las Vegas, USA.
